2014 AVIV Membership Drive
AVIV’s 2014 membership drive has begun.
Membership renewal prior
to December 31, 2013 will be appreciated.
Dues are $54.00 for individuals,
$108.00 for couples and family
and $36 for full-time students and military.
As you complete your membership renewal
for the coming year, please
consider an additional financial
contribution to support future events.
Donations can be made to honor a family
member, to celebrate an event,
or as a yarzheit memorial.

The AVIV Shabbat Prayer
Book is being rewritten.
To commemorate their 50th wedding
anniversary,
Chuck and Janice Dietz startedan AVIV prayer book fund.
More donations are needed to print at least
30 copies of
the new prayer book.

A committee will be formed to review our current
Shabbat Siddur and the Shabbat
Siddur from Beth Chayim Chadshim (LA’s LGBT Jewish
Congregation). Beth
Chayim Chadshim has given AVIV permission to copy
their electronic version for a
small donation.

Upcoming Events:
Weaving
the LGBT Welcome Mat
A panel discussion about being Jewish and
homosexual.
AVIV’s
Roni Keeton is participating at a panel discussion sponsored
by the National
Council of Jewish Women (NCJW).
The
event is called Weaving the LGBT Welcome
Mat.
This panel discussion is to
enhance understanding of what it is like to be Jewish and homosexual in
Arizona.
It will be held on
Tuesday, November 19th at 6:30 PM at Temple Solel (6805 E. McDonald
Drive, Paradise Valley, AZ 85252, just west of Scottsdale Road).
The Panel Participants include:
